I will show you some images from the trip from Cusco and thru some archiological sites that shows some of the aspects of the amazing Inka culture.
First of I start with the colonial church in the town square of Cusco
This is a view of Cusco. This town have due to its proximity ot Macchu Picchu it have increased in size over the last years.
Then we came to this small village, where the local woman showed us how they make local garments and textiles.
It is made primarly from the wool of this bunch. The lamas and Alpacas of Peru.
The woman also showed us some of the other crafts such as coloring the wool.
This is the view of the Sacret Valley of the Inkas. It just looks stunning
Then it was onwards to a other old Inka village. It is located on top of a mountian, both to have closeness to the Gods, but also to serve as a military outfit
It is time to start walking to the top…. Under us you can see the famous inka terraces, that goes all the way down to the valley.
Here you have some typical housing.
On the way up the mountain, we pass some mountains that have been used as burial tombs.
A view of the complex from the top
Here you have a view of the entire valley.
Next stop was Ollyantambo
We where going to walk apx. 250 steps to get to the top of the Inka structure. It is just to get started.
The view from the steps is breathtaking
From the top us the steps you can see the size of the structures that the Inkas made
Here you can get a general ide of how steep it is this kind of thing.
Down in the town again , you can see the different structure that was part of inka life
The Inkas was highly evolved builders, and the aquaducts is amazing.
And the last one, a small aquaduct inside the modern city of Ollyantambo
