Picture of the day: A little landscape

I have been out shooting a little bit this afternoon and did a couple of nature shots over the sea. The summer weather is not all that bad today.

Picture of the day: A view of my hometown today

It haven’t been all that windy and rainy today, so I could take my drone out for a little spin. It is always a nice experience to see the world from another perspective.
So I took this shoot about an hour ago, and just to try to make people understand how the clouds are forming, and probably some bad weather will hit my hometown soon, so  I added the effect of black and white.

Have a good day for the remains of the weekend.

A lake without water (Engavatnet)

Just outside my hometown there is a little bit special natural phenomenon. There is a lake, that sometimes just dries up. The apparent reason why is that you have a cave system that goes beneath the surface, and the soil acts like a sponge that plugs he caves, and keeps the lake “alive”. But when it gets dry over long periods of time, the sponge effect stops, and the entire lake disappears.

Quite cool actually.

This is when you walk up to the lake.

This is how the lake looks like today
