A kind of postcard ….

Todays image is of  my hometowns pride and joy , the mountain Torghatten, the mountain that I have depicted so many times before. But of some reason still stands resolute (it is a mountain)… and I still feel there are a lot more images to be shot of it. It is a bright and sunny day today, and I felt like sharing this one from earlier today.

Moose grazing

This is the moose (or elk) , and the king of the forest. Majestic animals, and quite nice to look at . Just remember to keep the distance, they are large, fast and extremely powerful.

Early morning at Oslo central station (a little street photography)

I just came home from a short trip to Oslo last night, and when I was there I thought it could be a good idea to test a little street photography. So I went early to the central station, and there is a lot of nice activity to see, especially in the early “commuter hours”.

Have added a little amount of “grain” to the images, just for emphasise the context of “a busy morning”,  and not the specific people.

You see a lot of people rushing to get to there trains and destination on time.

The station it self have been refurbished, and I think it looks quite good.

People where starting to get a little anxious…..

People was getting ready to catch there trains, and other trains was arriving.

Picture of the day: A little piece of middle ages history

I am still on the west coast of Norway visiting my parents, and of course I have to venture out trying to get some shots. Mybe the most spectacular pieces of history around these parts is this old wooden church (Holdhus gamle kirke), that dates all the way back to 1306. Still looks impressive after all these years.

Picture of the day: Day of geology

Today is geology day.  I have to admit, this was kind of new to me, but still… Around my hometown there are a lot of famous mountain, and the most famous is Torghatten that have a gigantic hole thru the entire mountain, and is quite the phenomenon in the geology field. You get a sense of the size of this hole in the image below. So today there where an excursion up to the mountain, and a professor gave a lecture about the mountain and how it have been shaped and so on. Very nice hike, and quite interesting lecture.

Picture of the day: Fall is here

I was out and about today, and one of the more photogenic location that I know is the local harbour, and the ships entering , docking and leaving. Todays shot is from earlier today, and as you can se from the clouds , even if the weather is kind of ok , the summer is definitely leaving, and a colder and wetter season is getting closer.
